Meet You At Porter's Place

This is some music I am working on for a documentary about Orrin Porter Rockwell. This piece is about half way done I think, but I thought I'd put it up to see what people thought, and kind of show what I've been up to in the last few days.

On a side note. Grant (Orrin) Olsen and I got to help out in the filming of the Documentary as extras for some "B" roll (flashback footage) as Missourian "mobbers". I'll post some pics when I get them. I saw footage yesterday at the Issimo Productions office. We are looking pretty badical with our torches and such, well at least Grant is. I look a bit like Michael Landon from Little House on The Prairie. Pics to come.

that's great, man. it definitely does not stay in this genre, but at first it kinda has a Grizzly Bear "Southern Point" sound… or, maybe it's just because I've been listening to that today.
But, regardless, I love the Old Wild Western sounds in there. It' really fun to listen to.

Yeah. That is a very common "bad arse" riff. Like in Buena, from Morphine, or I Say Fever, from Ramona Falls (which I think is closer to what I was going for). That kind of striding rhythm gives the badical character for Porter to build his score around.

Thanks Cole. have you been to Porter's Place in Lehi? The background music is all jangly honky tonk piano. Hence my insparations piano wise.

I like it. You're good at finding sounds that contribute to the legend of the character.
